Overall Impression:

This was our first time on Qatar’s Airbus A350-900, that’s been reconfigured with the QSuite. The last time we flew on the -900 version, it still had the reverse herringbone business class seat, which is good, but the QSuite really makes a huge difference. This plane is currently fitted with 36 QSuite seats in business class, which is plenty comfortable for this 7 hour flight to London. The food and service from the crew onboard were excellent and consistent with our other Qatar Airways flights. The lounge experience at the Al Mourjan lounge in Doha as expected was also great. There was plenty of seating and the food and beverage selection is excellent.

What I liked:

The seats – For those who’ve seen my other videos, you’ll know how much I’m a big fan of the QSuite product. The seats are very comfortable for sitting, dining, and lounging. Pair that with personal air nozzles and you’ll catch some serious ZZZs in-flight. The seats are all very private as well. Right after takeoff, you can close the suite door for additional privacy.

The catering – I was so full from the big meal we had at the Al Mourjan Lounge in Doha, so I decided to have a light tasting meal 2 hours after takeoff instead of the usual 3-course meal. The platter was beautifully plated and tasted light and delicious. I also ordered the beef and chicken sliders before landing, and just like the first meal it tasted fresh, flavorful, and was nicely presented.

The service – The crew that we interacted with were very charming, and eager to please. They offered us a pre-departure beverage, and loungewear before takeoff. They were also quick to respond to our requests and plated our meals beautifully.

The Al Mourjan Lounge in Doha – The Al Mourjan lounge has gone through a lot of changes since the pandemic began. Most notable is the food offering. They now offer an excellent la carte dining service in addition to the now “assisted” buffet spread in the dining room. Not to mention the serve sushi! There is also plenty of comfortable seating through out this huge lounge.

It was OK:

The Onboard amenities – A protective kit including mask, latex gloves, and hand sanitizer were offered to all business class passengers in addition to the Bric’s amenity kit, and pajamas. The crew offered turndown service, with a thick duvet, full-size pillowm and mattress pads were placed on the seat when you’re ready to wind down and get some sleep. The lavatories were regularly cleaned by the crew and had some toiletries like facial must and hand lotion, but missing was the usual stock of toothbrushes and shaving kits. Perhaps the plane was not stocked for our flight?

What I didn’t like:

The flight was not long enough – This was only a 7 hour flight, which is somewhat short compared to the ultra long haul flights we’ve flown on Qatar. I wish the flight was longer so that we could enjoy the amenities and service more.

Bottom Line:

Qatar Airways offers an excellent business class product with the QSuite. These seats are being touted as “Super Business Class” seats, and they really are. The in-flight amenities and catering are among the best we’ve experienced in business class, and even beats some of the first class products we’ve flown in the past. The Al Mourjan Lounge is the cherry on top, with it’s expansive real estate and excellent food and beverage selection.
